OUR MISSION & VISION

Elevating the Biomedical Engineer to a Clinical Hero

Our Belief
format_quote

We know the extreme challenges technicians face daily, working to keep vital systems running without adequate institutional support. For too long, they have been asked to do the impossible. We exist to stand behind these local leaders of healthcare resilience, providing the tools, recognition, and policy backing they need to perform their critical work.

track_changes Our Mission

To advocate for the repair and maintenance of medical devices through multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring sustainable and resilient healthcare systems in low- and middle-income countries that consistently deliver high-quality care to every patient.

visibility Vision 2035

We envision a fully functional healthcare ecosystem across 25 LMICs where continuous equipment uptime is the standard. By 2035, our goal is for health facilities and national ministries to progress toward Stage 3 (Operational) or above on the STEP-BME maturity model, ensuring that every funded piece of equipment remains functional at the exact moment of clinical assessment.

How We Achieve It

The Three Pillars
campaign
Pillar 01

Advocate

We mobilize governments, regulators, and industry to develop national medical equipment management policies and secure budgets for spare parts.

school
Pillar 02

Educate

We collect ground-truth data, provide continuous professional development, and connect biomedical engineers and technicians to peer learning networks.

Pillar 03

Innovate

We develop context-specific resources, platforms, and frameworks built with practitioners, not just for them.

The 2035 Target

We are working toward a future where continuous equipment uptime is the new standard. Our ultimate goal is to ensure ecosystem partners are active in 25 LMIC countries by 2035, with all facilities operating at a high level of maturity, maintaining the 85.0% equipment uptime standard.
